Focus your Goals

“Focus your finest efforts on the one or two goals that will make all the difference, instead of giving mediocre effort to dozens of goals. Execution starts with focus.”

When training new clients, sometimes I hear I am practicing everyday but I’m not getting better in the games… then I ask, “well what are you focusing on in your practice” and the answer is usually “everything or I dunno”. This lack of clarity makes it hard to track if your really getting better. If your mind can’t track your goal and feel good about it, it can be hard to find the confidence when you need it in the games.

So if you want to get better pick one or two goals. Maybe its left hand layups and midrange shooting. Maybe it’s your crossover dribble and your vertical jump… whatever it is narrow down your goals so it becomes easier to track. If you know you’ve been shooting 70 percent from midrange every day when training and make 10 left-hand layups in a row before ending your workout… when you have a left hand layup in a game or are open from midrange you will have all the confidence in the world to shoot it.

Struggling? Focus and define specific goals, Leeeeeeeeeeeeeetssssssss go!
